The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Financial Controller to join our South East & Overseas Aggregates business. This is a high-profile role where you’ll work closely with senior leadership teams, providing financial insight, direction, and challenge to support decision-making across a diverse and geographically varied operation.
This part of the business plays a key role in delivering large-scale aggregates solutions for major infrastructure and marine projects, including sea and flood defence schemes. With activity spanning the South East of England and selected international markets, you’ll gain exposure to complex, high-value projects and cross-border operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence commercial strategy, support growth, and contribute to projects that have a visible and lasting impact on communities and infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
Partner with senior stakeholders across the South East & Overseas Aggregates business, providing clear financial insight, constructive challenge, and strategic support
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting, ensuring accurate visibility of financial and operational performance across multiple regions
Oversee financial control and governance, ensuring robust processes, compliance, and strong balance sheet management across diverse operations
Support major project and contract evaluations, including marine and infrastructure schemes, ensuring robust financial modelling and decision-making support
Lead and develop a small finance team, supporting capability, engagement, and succession within the function
Who you are
You’re a qualified accountant with strong commercial acumen and experience operating in a complex, multi-site or project-driven environment
You’re confident partnering with senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and providing constructive, insight-led challenge
You bring strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data and translate it into clear actions
You communicate effectively across a range of audiences, adapting your approach to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
You’re comfortable working across multiple geographies and managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment
