The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Financial Controller, for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract to support our Aggregates division. You'll operate as a key member of the regional leadership team, partnering closely with Regional Directors and General Managers to influence performance and strategic direction across a large, operationally complex business.
Our Aggregates division is at the heart of the UK construction supply chain, playing a critical role in delivering essential infrastructure and supporting the transition to more sustainable building materials. With a broad network of quarries, plants, and logistics operations, this role offers real breadth—combining operational finance, commercial insight, and strategic planning. You’ll be central to driving performance, improving visibility, and supporting ongoing investment across the business.
What You'll Be Doing
Partner with senior stakeholders across the Aggregates business, providing financial insight, guidance, and constructive challenge to support performance and decision-making
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance analysis, ensuring clear visibility of trends, risks, and opportunities
Strengthen financial control and governance, ensuring robust processes, compliance, and balance sheet integrity across multiple sites and operations
Support capital investment planning, including business cases for plant, equipment, and operational improvements
Lead and develop a small team of finance professionals, contributing to a high-performing and collaborative finance function
Who you are
You’re a qualified accountant with strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insight
You’re experienced in business partnering within an operational or multi-site environment, building trusted relationships while offering effective challenge
You bring strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with a focus on continuous improvement and performance optimisation
You communicate with clarity and confidence, tailoring your approach to a range of stakeholders across both finance and operations
You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day operational demands
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
