The Opportunity
Join Holcim UK as Plant Manager at our Theale site, where you’ll take ownership of running a busy concrete production facility. This is an exciting opportunity to lead from the front in a role that combines technical expertise, operational leadership, and a strong focus on safety and quality. Theale is a key site within our Ready-Mix network, and you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality production every day.
If you’re motivated, hands-on, and ready to make a big impact, this role offers plenty of scope to develop, grow, and shape the future of operations at one of our key plants.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operation: Oversee batching operations, using automated systems to weigh, measure, and mix raw materials into high-quality concrete.
Quality Assurance: Monitor production and carry out tests to ensure every mix meets the required customer and industry standards.
Inventory Management: Track raw material stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain a steady flow of production.
Safety Leadership: Champion health, safety, and environmental compliance, ensuring all procedures are followed, from daily checks to LOTOTO protocols.
Maintenance & Repairs: Manage routine and preventative maintenance while supporting with troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily production logs, batch reports, and delivery records.
Mobile Plant Operation: Operate mobile equipment such as loaders and forklifts to manage material movements and stockpiles.
General Site Duties: Lead by example in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised site.
Who You Are
Experienced in concrete production, plant operations, or a similar heavy industry environment.
A natural leader who can manage day-to-day operations while motivating and supporting the team.
Strong focus on safety, compliance, and quality.
Organised, detail-driven, and comfortable working with automated systems.
Hands-on and flexible, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
Skilled in mobile plant operation (training can be provided if required).
