The Opportunity

Holcim is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Production Manager to join our collaborative site management team. In this vital role, you will help oversee our operational footprint, championing safety excellence and production efficiency while mentoring a skilled workforce.

As an integral part of the team, your key responsibilities will include:
Serving as the statutory 8.1(d) appointee under the Quarry Regulations 1999 to maintain a safe, compliant, and statutory presence on site.
Directly overseeing all primary and mobile crushing activities, ensuring optimum plant and equipment utilisation.
Working closely with the Quarry Development, Drilling & Blasting, and Geological teams to execute operations in strict accordance with geotechnical assessments and quarry design plans.
Managing operational budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring all essential data is precisely recorded for accounting purposes.
Supporting, recruiting, and training site personnel to foster high competence, excellent safety awareness, and positive workplace relations.
Championing Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, including leading risk assessments, site inspections, and detailed incident investigations.
Who you are
To excel in this role, you will bring a collaborative mindset and a strong commitment to operational excellence. We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
You hold a SHE QCF Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) and possess a solid understanding of the Quarry Regulations 1999 and statutory health and safety legislation.
You have demonstrable experience in a similar or equivalent production or processing management role within the extractives or construction materials sector.
Your background includes practical knowledge of geological factors in quarry design, alongside clear experience in contractor and project management.
You possess strong financial awareness, with a proven ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver production targets within cost restraints.
You are an exceptional communicator who builds effective working relationships across departments and thrives as part of a highly functioning team.
You are highly organised and self-motivated, bringing a proactive approach to problem-solving and initiatives for continuous improvement.
You possess strong personal values, IT literacy, and a pragmatic, analytical approach to report writing and business operations.
