The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a professional Chef to join our team at Glensanda. This is a hands-on role preparing high-quality, nutritious food for site staff, visitors and contractors, supporting a safe and welcoming catering environment. You will be part of a close-knit team, responsible for menu planning, food preparation and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
The role is 7On and 7Off and accomodation is provided
About the role
The most important aspects of this role are a commitment to food safety, delivering consistently excellent customer service and working well with colleagues. Key duties include:
Plan, prepare and cook daily menus, including hot meals, cold buffets and special dietary options
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and record keeping in line with company policies and statutory requirements
Manage stock, order supplies and control food costs to minimise waste and ensure value for money
Prepare meals for varying group sizes and adapt menus for special events or requirements
Operate kitchen equipment safely and carry out routine cleaning and maintenance tasks
Work collaboratively with site teams to ensure catering provision supports operational needs
Provide excellent customer service, responding to queries and dietary requests professionally
Who you are
Experienced in a commercial kitchen environment with a strong practical cooking skill set
You should have food hygiene Level 3.
Good organisational skills with the ability to plan and manage stock effectively
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; flexible with working hours including occasional weekends
A willingness to follow Health & Safety and housekeeping procedures at all times
Desire for training and development to grow within the role
