The Opportunity

Are you driven to shape a culture where safety, wellbeing, and operational excellence go hand in hand? We’re looking for a Senior Health & Safety Business Partner to play a pivotal role across our Contracting division, a critical part of our business that delivers asphalt surfacing solutions across the UK.

In this highly influential role, you’ll sit on the Contracting Senior Leadership Team, partnering directly with senior leaders to deliver the H&S strategy and drive continuous improvement across a fast-moving, high-risk operational environment.

Alongside your work with the contracting team, you’ll also support our Capex function. Providing early H&S input into major projects, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015, and helping shape safe design and delivery from day one.

This is a role with real impact, visibility, and breadth. You’ll work closely with operational teams, senior stakeholders, and major external clients (including Tier 1 contractors), helping deliver a consistent approach to risk management, culture, and performance.

What you'll be doing

• Lead and deliver the H&S strategy for the Contracting division, driving cultural and operational improvements.
• Provide specialist support to PMO/Capex projects, ensuring CDM 2015 compliance and early-stage HSE involvement.
• Build strong internal and external relationships, representing Holcim UK in client meetings and joint safety discussions.
• Support operational teams in managing key risks, particularly mobile plant and pedestrian interactions.
• Lead investigations, analyse performance trends, and drive actions that prevent recurrence and improve reliability.
• Coach and influence leaders and managers, strengthening competence and embedding consistent safety standards.

Who you are

• You’ll have proven experience in multi-project environments, such as across construction, highways or utilities.
• You’ll have excellent stakeholder engagement experience, being confident, credible, and client-facing.
• You’ll be proactive, solutions-focused, and skilled at balancing strategic influence with practical, hands-on support.
