The Opportunity

We have a new vacancy for General Operative to join our team at our Ghyll Scaur quarry in Millom

As a General Operative you will report to the Quarry Manager, you will be a team member within one of the production teams. The role will require you to be hand on as well as learning plant operations. You will carry out and ensure that plant routines are regularly adhered to and that the cleanliness of the plant mechanism, plant area, adjacent buildings, and equipment are at all times properly and regularly inspected, cleaned in accordance with site instructions. The role is Tuesday to Fri 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Who you are

• We are looking for a highly motivated General Operative with drive and enthusiasm to work as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Good organisational skills.
• Ability to work to deadline.
• Previous experience within a similar industry.
• Operation of production plant.
• Operation of mobile plant (Loading Shovel, Articulated Dump Truck, Excavator) safely and efficiently carrying out daily safety checks
