The Opportunity
We’re offering a rare opportunity to lead production operations at a brand new, state-of-the-art cement grinding terminal in the Port of Tilbury. As Production Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the performance and culture of a 24/7 operation that’s been designed with the latest technology throughout.
Based on site Monday to Friday and reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you'll oversee day-to-day operations while helping define the long-term ways of working for the facility. You’ll lead and develop a skilled team of supervisors and operators and work collaboratively across Production, Maintenance, Quality and HSE to ensure a safe, efficient and high-performing plant from day one.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading a 24/7 operational team and embedding a strong safety-first culture.
Overseeing day-to-day production activity to maximise plant throughput, product quality and equipment utilisation.
Collaborating closely with Maintenance, Quality and HSE to ensure compliance with all operational standards and statutory requirements.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives, using tools such as Lean, Six Sigma and root cause analysis to optimise plant performance.
Coaching, developing and supporting your team, including succession planning and performance management.
Working closely with senior stakeholders to align production activity with the wider operational and sustainability objectives of the site.
Supporting budget and cost management by identifying operational efficiencies and contributing to forecasting and reporting.
Championing innovation and future-focused practices across the facility to establish best-in-class production operations.
Who You Are
You’re an experienced production leader from a heavy industrial or cement environment who thrives in complex, fast-paced settings and is motivated by the challenge of building something from the ground up.
Proven track record of leading production operations in a 24/7 manufacturing or processing environment.
Strong focus on safety, compliance and operational governance.
Comfortable shaping systems and routines in a new facility – not just maintaining performance, but embedding it.
Able to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams through change and growth.
Confident driving continuous improvement using Lean or similar methodologies.
Collaborative and commercially aware, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver shared goals.
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
