The Opportunity
We're looking for a General Operative to join our team at Callow Quarry. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll split your time between operating mobile plant, supporting production activities and providing cover for the site weighbridge.
Working Monday to Friday with shifts of either 05:30-15:30 or 06:30-16:30, with opportunities for overtime on Saturday mornings, you'll become an important part of a close-knit team that keeps the quarry operating safely and efficiently. If you're computer literate, enjoy practical work and are keen to develop new skills, we'll provide the training and support you need to build a rewarding career with us.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting the operation of fixed production plant, dispatching materials and monitoring product quality to ensure high operational standards.
Providing holiday and sickness cover for the weighbridge, accurately processing vehicle movements and maintaining records using computer-based systems.
Carrying out routine plant inspections, maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and reporting any faults or issues promptly.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and maintenance teams to support safe, efficient quarry operations and respond effectively to operational requirements.
Who you are
You are computer literate and comfortable learning and using site systems with confidence.
You enjoy practical, hands-on work and are keen to develop your skills across different aspects of quarry operations.
You work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and site visitors.
You are organised, dependable and able to manage your responsibilities in a busy operational environment.
