The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Transport Manager to join our team, reporting into the Head of Compliance, with responsibility for overseeing transport compliance across our operations within the M25. You'll be based primarily at Morden Wharf with the wider logistics team, with travel across multiple depots or locations in the London area.
This is a critical role at the heart of our CDM London logistics operation, focused on ensuring our fleet of ~100 vehicles operates safely, compliantly and to the highest regulatory standards. You’ll take ownership of driver hours, audit readiness and compliance with FORS, DVSA, ISO and internal standards. With the opportunity to influence behaviours, challenge constructively and strengthen our compliance culture, this role offers real impact and visibility across the business.
What You'll Be Doing
Overseeing transport compliance, ensuring adherence to Operator Licence requirements, DVSA regulations, FORS standards and internal policies
Monitoring driver hours, tachograph data and Working Time Directive compliance, addressing infringements through coaching and appropriate processes
Leading internal and external audit preparation, maintaining audit-ready documentation and identifying and closing compliance gaps
Investigating incidents, accidents and near misses, producing root cause analysis and implementing preventative actions
Supporting and engaging drivers through briefings, performance discussions and compliance reviews, promoting a strong safety-first culture
Who you are
You hold a valid Transport Manager CPC and are confident in your responsibility on an Operator Licence
You have strong experience managing transport compliance, particularly driver hours, tachograph legislation and regulatory standards
You’re comfortable operating in an environment where you need to challenge, influence and speak up to maintain high standards
You bring experience in audit, compliance or health & safety, ideally within logistics, construction or fleet operations
You are highly organised, detail-focused and confident managing documentation, reporting and audit trails
You communicate clearly and confidently, building credibility with drivers, site teams and senior stakeholders
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
