The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Operative to join our team at our Doncaster Asphalt Plant. This is a permanent, site-based role working within a close-knit team of four, where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in keeping the plant running smoothly, supporting customers, operating machinery and learning different areas of the operation including weighbridge, mixing and bagging processes.

Working Monday to Friday, 6:00am–3:00pm, with weekend shifts on a rota basis (6:00am–9:00am every other weekend), this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values teamwork and is keen to develop new skills in a supportive environment. Full training will be provided, including loading shovel operation and plant systems, making this an ideal role for someone looking to build a long-term career within the industry.

What You'll be Doing

• Managing weighbridge activities including vehicle check-ins, order processing and documentation

• Operating the loading shovel and supporting the safe movement of materials across site

• Supporting asphalt mixing and bagging operations while learning different areas of the plant

• Carrying out routine housekeeping, pre-start checks and basic maintenance tasks on fixed and mobile plant equipment

• Providing excellent customer service to drivers, contractors and visitors while responding to queries professionally

Who you are

• You enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and take pride in doing a job well

• You have good communication and customer service skills and work well as part of a team

• You’re comfortable using IT systems and are confident learning new processes and plant controls

• You’re flexible with working hours, including weekend rota coverage

• You have a positive attitude towards health, safety and environmental standards

• You’re keen to learn new skills and open to training across different plant operations
