The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Operative to join our team at our Doncaster Asphalt Plant. This is a permanent, site-based role working within a close-knit team of four, where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in keeping the plant running smoothly, supporting customers, operating machinery and learning different areas of the operation including weighbridge, mixing and bagging processes.
Working Monday to Friday, 6:00am–3:00pm, with weekend shifts on a rota basis (6:00am–9:00am every other weekend), this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values teamwork and is keen to develop new skills in a supportive environment. Full training will be provided, including loading shovel operation and plant systems, making this an ideal role for someone looking to build a long-term career within the industry.
What You'll be Doing
Managing weighbridge activities including vehicle check-ins, order processing and documentation
Operating the loading shovel and supporting the safe movement of materials across site
Supporting asphalt mixing and bagging operations while learning different areas of the plant
Carrying out routine housekeeping, pre-start checks and basic maintenance tasks on fixed and mobile plant equipment
Providing excellent customer service to drivers, contractors and visitors while responding to queries professionally
Who you are
You enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and take pride in doing a job well
You have good communication and customer service skills and work well as part of a team
You’re comfortable using IT systems and are confident learning new processes and plant controls
You’re flexible with working hours, including weekend rota coverage
You have a positive attitude towards health, safety and environmental standards
You’re keen to learn new skills and open to training across different plant operations
