The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a National Environmental Permitting Manager to lead, shape, and deliver the Company’s environmental permitting strategy across waste, water, minerals, and other regulated activities.
Sitting within the Land & Natural Resources team, this is a highly influential national role, providing expert leadership across existing assets and future development projects. You will act as the principal authority on environmental permitting, working closely with senior leaders, regulators, government bodies, and industry groups to ensure permits are secured, maintained, and aligned with long-term business and sustainability objectives.
This role combines strategic influence with hands-on delivery, requiring strong regulatory expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to operate confidently in complex and high-risk regulatory environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
Developing and implementing a national environmental permitting strategy aligned to business growth, sustainability commitments, and capital investment programmes.
Leading engagement with regulators, government departments, and political stakeholders, influencing policy and regulatory change to protect and advance the Company’s interests.
Overseeing the securing, variation, negotiation, and maintenance of complex waste, water, and minerals permits, either directly or through specialist consultants.
Ensuring strong governance, compliance assurance, and continuous improvement through effective permit management, risk mitigation, and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
Who You Are
You have strong, demonstrable experience in environmental permitting, ideally within the waste, minerals, or heavy industrial sectors.
You bring a solid understanding of environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks, and policy development.
You are confident engaging and influencing regulators, government stakeholders, and senior internal leaders.
You are organised, proactive, and able to manage complex, multi-site priorities effectively.
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
