The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Buyer to join our Procurement team, supporting the sourcing of raw materials that underpin the production of Ready-Mix, Asphalt, and construction solutions used across the UK.

Based at our Bardon Hill Head Office in Leicestershire, this role offers an excellent entry point into a commercial procurement career within a large, complex, and fast-moving business. You’ll work alongside experienced Category Managers and Buyers, gaining hands-on exposure to supplier management, negotiations, tendering, and data-driven decision-making.

We’re looking for someone who is commercially curious, resilient, and inquisitive. You don’t need previous buying experience, but you do need the appetite to learn, challenge, and develop quickly in a professional environment.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting Buyers and Category Managers with day-to-day procurement activity across raw materials categories.

• Assisting with supplier onboarding, tender preparation, pricing analysis, and contract administration.

• Reviewing purchase requests to ensure accuracy, completeness, and commercial alignment.

• Working with internal stakeholders to understand operational requirements and translate them into procurement solutions.

• Analysing data to support cost modelling, supplier performance reviews, and savings initiatives.

• Maintaining procurement systems and databases to ensure information is accurate and up to date.

• Supporting sustainability, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

• Occasionally visiting sites to gain insight into how materials are used and how procurement decisions impact operations.
