The Opportunity

We now have an opportunity for a Quarry Manager - Nights to join our team at Torr Works, one of our flagship limestone quarry operations. Internally known as a Night Shift Manager, this is a critical onsite leadership role, providing full statutory coverage during night operations and acting as the senior decision-maker outside of normal day shifts.

Appointed as the Statutory 8.1(d), you’ll be responsible for overseeing night-time processing operations, rail movements, maintenance activities, and contractor control.

This role operates Monday to Friday, 21:00–06:30. While extraction/ blasting does not take place overnight, processing and rail operations continue 24/7.

Who you are

• You hold, or are ready to complete, the Statutory 8.1(d) qualification.

• You have demonstrable experience in quarry or heavy industrial operations, ideally in a supervisory or management capacity.

• You have a strong working knowledge of Quarries Regulations, health & safety legislation, and environmental controls.

• You’re confident working autonomously, making decisions under pressure, and providing visible leadership on site.

• You understand operational budgets, asset care, and production performance.

• You’re highly organised, detail-focused, and proactive in managing risk and compliance.

• You communicate clearly and effectively with operational teams, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
