This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced environmental permitting professional, ideally with a background in waste management, recycling, or minerals. You’ll work across a broad and varied portfolio of sites. With a mixture of office-based work, site visits, home working and regional travel, this role offers autonomy, influence, and the chance to make a real impact across our circular economy and mineral development operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading and supporting environmental permitting for waste management facilities, mineral developments, infill and restoration projects.
Preparing, negotiating, and managing applications for waste, water and other environmental permits.
Ensuring all submissions meet statutory requirements and follow the correct guidance.
Acting as a key point of contact with regulators, including the Environment Agency, SEPA and local authorities.
Providing clear advice to operational teams on permit conditions, obligations, and compliance.
Supporting investigations and corrective actions for any non-compliances.
Keeping up to date with changes in environmental permitting legislation and contributing to company responses to public consultations.
Who You Are
You have experience in environmental permitting, ideally within the waste or minerals sector.
You’re an effective communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
You’re highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities independently.
You’re confident in building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
You’re adaptable, self-motivated, and able to travel regionally.
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
