The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Surfacing Site Supervisor capable of supervising multiple surfacing contracting gangs and liaising with customers. The Surfacing Site Supervisor, reporting into the Surfacing Contracts Manager will deliver a wide range of surfacing schemes including new build roads, car parks and local authority carriageways across multiple locations in the north east.

The role combines customer facing requirements and supervision of internal and supply chain resources, being a strong communicator both internally and externally is essential.

The ideal candidate will have experience in asphalt surfacing, perhaps someone looking to move into supervision or an experienced supervisor who wants to join a forward thinking company. They will be putting to work a machine crew daily ensuring they are working safely and efficiently. The role will be predominantly site based and therefore the successful candidate must hold a SMSTS certificate and a gold CSCS card, be self motivated and have a comprehensive understanding of surfacing contracting and site safety. We expect the right candidate as part of their daily duties to be able to complete accurate site records including safety briefings; site measurements; daily diary’s, in addition to placing orders for materials and resources in a timely and efficient manner, all while working within H&S control measures, client programs and budgets.

The successful candidate will be supported by a team who are committed to delivering surfacing contracts to the highest standards of safety, quality & efficiency.

Who you are:

• You have extensive experience in surfacing laying operations. (essential)
• Have a passion for safety and quality.
• Organised and flexible allowing you to manage under pressure.
• Great communicator who can build positive relationships with their team and clients.
• knowledge of current legislation.
• Knowledge and understanding of basic IT packages.
