The Opportunity
We’re looking for an Assistant Quarry Manager to join our specialist silica sand site, producing materials for sports grounds and other high-value applications. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll take ownership of production and maintenance activities, supporting the Quarry Manager to deliver a safe, efficient, and high-performing operation.
You’ll play a key role in the site’s success, influencing performance, safety, and team development every day. With potential expansion into nearby sites, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone from a production background to step into management, take ownership of a process-driven operation, and grow their career with Holcim.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting the Quarry Manager in overseeing production, maintenance, and site operations.
Acting as the 8.1d/8.1c lead in the manager’s absence, maintaining statutory presence and compliance.
Ensuring production targets, quality standards, and financial objectives are achieved.
Promoting a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring compliance with company and legislative requirements.
Coordinating with commercial, logistics, and operations teams to meet customer demand.
Overseeing plant and equipment maintenance, supporting hands-on mechanical work where required.
Driving continuous improvement and efficient use of resources across a modern, high-value site.
Who You Are
Experienced in production, quarrying, or manufacturing, with strong leadership and team management skills.
A confident communicator who can motivate teams and maintain focus under pressure.
Results-driven, organised, and proactive, with a practical, problem-solving mindset.
Ready to step up and develop your career in a fast-paced, rewarding quarry environment.
