The Opportunity
Looking to step up into leadership and play a vital role in one of the UK’s leading construction materials businesses? This is your chance to join Holcim UK as a Trainee Quarry Supervisor, where you’ll gain hands-on experience, develop your skills, and take on real responsibility at one of our busy quarry operations.
This role is about more than just learning the ropes – it’s about preparing you to become a future leader in quarry management. You’ll support the Quarry Operations Manager while learning how to oversee day-to-day operations, optimise production, and keep safety and quality at the heart of everything we do.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Supporting the Quarry Manager with all aspects of daily site operations.
Helping supervise employees and contractors, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
Learning to manage plant and equipment, maximising up time and performance.
Planning production and coordinating resources to meet targets.
Carrying out safety inductions, toolbox talks, and environmental checks.
Investigating incidents, reviewing performance, and looking for continuous improvements.
Building leadership skills by coaching, supporting, and motivating colleagues.
What You’ll Bring:
Self-motivation, initiative, and a proactive approach.
Strong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and people skills – a natural team player.
A genuine interest in safety, sustainability, and site operations.
Previous experience in heavy industry or construction is helpful but not essential – the right attitude is what matters most.
A QCF Level 3 SHE qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
