The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join Holcim UK as the Operations Manager for Geocycle at our Cauldon Cement Plant in Staffordshire. Sitting at the forefront of Holcim’s decarbonisation and circularity strategy, you’ll lead the day-to-day delivery of alternative fuels and raw materials that support low-carbon cement production.
Working Monday to Friday on site, you’ll manage AFR and ARM operations across Cauldon, shaping operational performance and strengthening compliance whilst building a high-performing team in a complex industrial environment. You’ll work closely with plant leadership and the global Geocycle network, influencing cross-functional collaboration and driving continuous improvement in safety, efficiency and sustainability.
What you’ll be doing:
Managing the operational performance, ensuring availability, quality and full compliance with permits and Holcim policies.
Leading and developing the on-site Geocycle team, promoting a positive safety culture and supporting future capability growth.
Planning and coordinating weekly deliveries in alignment with commercial and production requirements.
Monitoring stock levels and system entries, resolving any operational, administrative or invoicing queries.
Advising consumption rates and working with plant operations to optimise performance throughout the week.
Carrying out regular site audits and duty-of-care checks and managing relationships with suppliers.
Supporting development projects, business cases and new material trials to drive innovation and circularity.
Representing Geocycle in internal meetings and collaborating with plant leadership and global stakeholders.
Who You Are
You’re a proven operations leader from a heavy industrial or waste environment who combines strong operational focus with a passion for sustainability and circularity.
Experience managing operations in a heavy industrial, waste, cement or aggregates environment.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to build capability in a site-based team.
Hands-on and proactive, with a commitment to high standards of housekeeping, safety and compliance.
Excellent stakeholder skills – confident working across internal plant teams, external suppliers and global colleagues.
Comfortable using systems such as SAP and managing operational KPIs, stock and delivery schedules.
Ideally WAMITAB/CoTC qualified (or willing to work towards).
A change-minded leader who can challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement with purpose.
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
