The Opportunity
Ready to step into a leadership role where you can drive day-to-day operations, support continuous improvement, and keep everything running like clockwork?
We’re looking for an Assistant Plant Manager to help oversee the safe and efficient running of our site. You’ll play a key role in managing production, quality, people, and performance—and when the Plant Manager is away, you’ll be the go-to leader on site. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, and knows how to bring out the best in a team, this is your chance to make a real impact.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
- Big responsibility, bigger opportunity – Be trusted with leading operations and driving standards.
- Room to grow – Step up into a leadership role that could lead to future plant or operations management.
- People-first culture – Support and develop your team while creating a safe, productive, and positive workplace.
- Performance-focused – Help us hit key quality, output, and safety targets—and celebrate the wins with your team.
- Global strength, local impact – Be part of Holcim, a worldwide leader in sustainable construction with local values.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Leading the daily operation of the plant to ensure safety, quality, and productivity targets are met.
Acting as the primary site lead in the absence of the Plant Manager—you’ll be the decision-maker and first point of contact.
Managing output, assets, and team resources to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
Monitoring plant performance, spotting inefficiencies, and implementing corrective actions where needed.
Supporting and motivating plant staff through coaching, clear direction, and open communication.
Maintaining a culture of safety and ensuring full compliance with site policies and health and safety procedures.
Supporting resource planning, budgeting, and long-term site improvement strategies.
Analysing operational data to reduce waste and drive cost-effective, quality output.
Contributing to recruitment, onboarding, and employee development processes.
What You’ll Bring:
Proven experience in a production, plant, or site management role—or ready to take the step up.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and direct a team.
Great problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to operational challenges.
A focus on continuous improvement and delivering against performance targets.
Working knowledge of safety, quality, inventory, and manufacturing best practices.
Basic IT skills and a keen eye for detail when analysing data.
IOSH Managing Safely qualification (or willingness to obtain).
We are committed to building a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. You will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or age.
